Merced County-is located in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley. It is the world's most productive agricultural area-tomatoes, strawberries, grapes, almonds and walnuts to name a few. The area goes from the coastal ranges to the foothills of Yosemite National Park. Highway 99 and I-5 provide routes north and south and Highway 152 connects east and west through Pacheco Pass to the coast. Merced is home to the most recent addition to the the UC roster-UC Merced. Merced College provides higher learning opportunities and has a satellite campus in Los Banos.

I have lived in Los Banos (City of the Spring Baths) with my family since 2004. The City of Los Banos has a population of 35,000+ and is the second largest city in Merced County. Often referred to as the Crossroads of California it is about 2 hours from San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento and Yosemite National Park. In 90 minutes you can be in Fresno, Stockton or go west and be at Monterey Peninsula and the Pacific Ocean. Employment in Silicon Valley is little more than an hour commute for valley residents.
